"Home is where the heart is" A proverb attributed to Gaius Plinius Secundus (AD 23–79)
Yesterday, my husband and I celebrated seven years of marriage. We had a beautiful day reminiscing about our wedding day. The weather was the same -- a crystal clear, cool day -- and there were so many memorable moments to relive and enjoy.
We got engaged the year before, and when the planning got serious, it was at the kitchen table, with a pot of tea and food for sustenance. Our kitchen table has been where our most important and often most challenging conversations have taken place. It is figuratively and literally our Round Table, where we talk about everything in our lives.
In the world of Feng Shui, the kitchen is an important room. It is where the hearth or stove is, the generator of heat and energy, the most essential part of our home. By preparing food, we nourish our family and friends and empower our ability to make money. It is the center of health, abundance, and prosperity, health being most important because, without health, we have nothing.
One simple but vital thing you can do to take care of your health, wealth, and well-being, is making sure all the burners on your stove are working -- turn them on regularly even if you are not using them -- and keeping your stove and oven clean. A dirty stove and oven can affect your energy level, which in turn impacts your ability to make money.
Home is where the heart is, and it is located in our kitchen and beats at our table.
Feel free to share any insights or results you have as you think about your kitchen and conversations you've had at your table. I would love to hear from you!
Everyday Feng Shui. It's all right here.
With love and blessings, Kate
