I am popping back in your mailbox today for Day 7 of 9 Days of Easy Feng Shui Gift ideas that I have been sharing over the past two weeks. In Feng Shui, we use a compass called the Bagua (bah-gwah), divided into 9 areas of life that correspond to specific areas in your home or space. Typically, we use it to analyze how the areas of your space are impacting the corresponding areas of your life. I use the Bagua in my day-to-day life in many different ways, including selecting gifts.
To use the Bagua and apply it to your space, the entrance is always along the side of the Knowledge/Career/Travel areas, and you are facing the side with Wealth/Fame/Relationships areas.
Today, we will look at the area we call Fame & Recognition, which is about your personal reputation and how you want to be seen in the world. It is also related to envisioning your life, planning your future, and setting goals. I like to say, how you want to shine! On the Bagua, Fame & Recognition is in the rear middle, the color is red, and the element is fire. My favorite gifts for Fame & Recognition are:
Scented Candles - Fire is the element of this area, and there is nothing more inviting and relaxing than a beautiful candle. Scented is not required, but it adds a beautiful touch. My favorite candles are Jo Malone. I am partial to the citrus scents Mandarin Orange, Lime Basil, and Grapefruit. Thyme makes beautiful Frasier Fir for the holiday season and other delicious scents. And new to my list is The White Company for the variety of fragrances they offer!
The most important thing we recommend is when selecting, packaging, and sending or giving your gift, do it with Intention. In Feng Shui, we say, Intention is everything.
