Our Summer "ZenVenture"

Updated: Jan 20, 2022

As you may know, this summer Ray and I did something we wanted to do -- we rented our home on Long Island for the summer and traveled. We stayed in an Airbnb for two months in Bubion, a small town in the Sierra Nevada mountain range of Spain in a region called Las Alpujarras. There we not only immersed ourselves in the local life but used our home as a base and traveled to Granada, Cordoba, Malaga, the beaches on the Costa del Sol, Seville, Barcelona in Spain, and to Praie D'ell Rey, Portugal. It was what I call a "ZenVenture".

Here are some highlights from our trip:

Check out some of my pictures on Instagram!I did a three-day, one-on-one printmaking intensive in Granada with Maureen Booth, Master printmaker, specializing in the technique of solar plating. Here's a fun blog with photos by Maureen's husband, Mike. He was fascinated by my being a former banker and artist!Of course, anywhere I travel -- even overnight -- I re-arrange space, our Airbnb home being no exception. I can't help it; it's an occupational hazard! I usually return things to how I find them when I leave. The owner's sister-in-law stopped by for a visit and insisted I not change a thing!

It's hard to believe it is September already and I am back in NY. We had a fantastic trip, and it is great to be home -- there is no place like it. Refreshed and re-set, I am ready to go, go, go. I have some exciting things I am working on that I will share about in the near future. In the meantime, I hope to see, talk or be in touch with you soon.

Love, Kate
