Starting the New Year - Intention is Everything

Updated: Jan 28, 2022

Every New Year is a time of celebrating the completion of the past year and creating a new year. A year of possibilities. A reset of the calendar. A fresh start. And a time to take a breath, pause, and see what's next in life. For me, an important part of welcoming in the New Year is letting go of the old that no longer serves us, thanking it for the lessons we've received, and then make room for what's new or next. I do this by setting a clear intention of what I desire for the coming year. In Feng Shui, we say intention is everything! To start, think about what you would like to bring in. Maybe more love? Better health? An abundance of prosperity? Peace? Then set a clear intention for the year or a specific vision or goal by simply:

  • Putting your intention in writing, using positive terms, and in the present tense as if it is already happening.

  • Reading it out loud when you feel peaceful and calm.

  • Visualizing it.

  • Experiencing it with all your senses. What do you see? What are the sounds? What do you smell? Taste? Feel?

  • Placing it in a Red Envelope and put it under your pillow or the mattress for the year.

Then let go and see what shows up! At the end of the year, you can open the envelope, read what you wrote, and see how it showed up!

Everyday Feng Shui. It's all right here.

I would love to hear from you about your intention or intentions for the year. And what you would like to hear or learn more about Feng Shui in the coming year.

With love and blessings to you for 2021.

Kate
